SGGP program donates houses to poor

Sai Gon Giai Phong handed over three houses to the poor people of ethnic minorities in Ia Nam and Ia Pnon in Duc Co District of the Central Highland province of Gia Lai on June 4.

Sai Gon Giai Phong handed over three houses to the poor people of ethnic minorities in Ia Nam and Ia Pnon in Duc Co District of the Central Highland province of Gia Lai on June 4.

This is part of the program “Nghia Tinh Truong Son” (Sentimental attachment for Truong So Road).

During the last two years, the charity program has offered 53 houses worth VND30 million each, to war invalids, martyr families and poor people of the province.

The program has also awarded hundreds of scholarships to ethnic minority children.

The Bank for Foreign Trade in Vietnam (Vietcombank) and Saigon Real Estate Corporation have funded the program.

Ho Xuan Long, secretary of Duc Co District Party Committee, said that the program has been highly appreciated for its deep-rooted effects on the social lives of the ethnic minority groups who are living their lives under harsh and difficult conditions.
