Vietnam plans to inoculate children aged 5-11 against Covid-19


Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the Ministry of Health (MoH) to promptly build a plan for vaccinating children aged 5-11 against Covid-19, which will be submitted to the Politburo for consideration and decision, according to an announcement released on December 8 by the Government’s Office.

HCMC pays attention to treatment to reduce mortality in Covid-19 patients

The standing board of the Party Committee of HCMC has asked the health sector and competent departments to strengthen treatment of severe Covid-19 patients to reduce mortality; manage and monitor F0 cases without symptoms and F1 cases under home quarantine simultaneously. Home isolation for asymptomatic F0, F1 cases reduces pressure on field hospitals.

Concerning the import of 117,000 first doses of vaccine AstraZeneca into Vietnam, the Ministry of Health is working with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in South Korea to assess quality of the vaccine for people’s safety; therefore, Covid-19 vaccine rollout is slower than initially scheduled, said Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long.
