The expansion of remote medical examination and treatment has helped both patients and healthcare workers, especially in mountainous and remote areas, access advanced techniques.

In the near future, the Department of Health in Ho Chi Minh City and the city’s Social Security will coordinate to implement the World Health Organization's (WHO) Essential Intervention package on non-communicable diseases in primary health care activities in grassroots medical facilities (WHO PEN package), said Associate Professor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the municipal Department of Health.

Thu Duc City has established 202 mobile medical groups in 199 residential quarters. Each group has at least one medical staff and 598 other members including police officers, military soldiers, members of youth unions, and city dwellers to take care of people's health.
