‘Pink holiday’ campaign launched in HCMC

The Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union launched its 10th ‘Pink Holiday’ volunteer campaign in District 2 yesterday, attended by 20,000 workers.

The campaign will take place from June 12 to July 31 this year.

During the campaign, volunteers will help build an amusement park for children in Tan Tao Industrial Zone, charitable houses and culture centers for workers.

The organizing committee will also host market-days to sell stabilized goods to workers.

The board will give away 100 gifts and 50 scholarships to young workers, 160 scholarships to workers’ children and 18 charitable houses to disadvantaged workers in the city and the neighboring provinces of Tay Ninh and Long An.

After the launch ceremony, volunteers planted trees along East West Highway, donated blood, held health checks and distributed medicines to poor workers. They also gave gifts to Vietnamese war mothers from several districts in the city.
