Cinematographic works produced from 1 October 2009 to 30 September 2011 will compete in four categories, namely movies, videos, documentaries and cartoons for the coveted Golden Lotus Award.

Applications will be received after October 20 and submissions can be sent to the organizers from November 1-15.

A series of activities such as a seminar on movies, a film market, a gala evening and exchanges between filmmakers and audiences will take place during the festival.

The first ever Vietnam Film Festival was organized in 1970 and is subsequently held every two to three years. The most coveted prize in the festival is the Golden Lotus Award.

The film festival is part of the National Tourism Year 2011 program, that is being celebrated throughout the south central coastal provinces of Phu Yen, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Da Nang city.
