The Nguyen Van Huong Scholarship has supported and inspired many young doctors through medical school.

I was able to graduate Medicine University in HCMC in 2005 thanks to the scholarship, said Dr. Vo Van Khanh. He always dreamed of becoming a doctor but was discouraged due to lack of finances.
He is currently working at Children Hospital No. 2 and participates in charity work examining and treating impoverished people of the Southeast and Mekong Delta regions.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu of the Examination Division of Nguyen Trai Hospital recalls a difficult financial situation during her education at Pham Ngoc Thach Medicine University. Her mother worked at home, her father was retired.
The scholarship therefore played an important role in aiding her through school.
After being cured of rheumatoid arthritis, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong strived to become a doctor despite economic instability in the household. After receiving the scholarship, she graduated from the Medicine University in HCMC in 2010 and started working at the General Hospital of Vinh Hung District.
She had a difficult time affording school because her family worked in rice paddy fields. She also worked while in school as a tutor to afford tuition.
I promised to be a good doctor after graduating, said Dr. Phuong.
