Nearly VND20 billion appealed to support disabled people

The eighth event called “Mot trai tim - mot the gioi” (One heart - One world) aimed also to honor exemplary models including Monk Thich Dinh Tanh, Tran Van Dieu, and Do Huy Hieu.

Monk Thich Dinh Tanh, who manages Cam Phong Pagoda in the southern province of Tay Ninh, brings up 210 people including 145 homeless elderly people and 65 orphans.

Tran Van Dieu with leg disability strives to become an owner of Xuan Dieu carpentry and receives many medals in domestic and international sport competition for disabled people.

Do Huy Hieu, paralyzed in legs teaches poor students in his hometown and passes the entrance examination into Natural Science University with high scores.

Benefactors contributed nearly VND20 billion (US$ 949,549) at event.

The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans (ASVHO).
