Furniture export expected to achieve more than US$4 billion

Vietnam's furniture export turnover is expected to reach target of over US$4 billion in next year, year-on-year increase of 30 percent, according to the Vietnam Wood and Forest Product Association (Vietforest).

The country's furniture export turnover may exceed US$3 billion in this year owing to the remarkable recovery of export markets in 2009.

Vietnam's wooden product export to the US market has grown up to 15 percent and the growth is 8 percent to the EU market.

Local furniture exporters also have entered new potential markets such as India, Russia, and Middle East.

next year will see a large demand of Vietnamese wooden products, the Vietforest forecast.
