The US dollar exchange rate on free market in Ho Chi Minh City continuously escalated on November 2.
At some jewelries in District 5, dollars were traded at VND21,000 per dollar. Similarly, dollars were bought at VND20,800 and sold at nearly VND 21,000 at foreign currency exchange agencies around District 1’s Ben Thanh Market and District 3’s Ban Co Market.
According to some investors, the greenback strongly rose as some commercial banks bought dollars at a very high price of VND20,500, indirectly causing the rate on free market to rocket.
