Corruption denunciators to be rewarded with corrupted money

Corruption denunciators will be rewarded 10 percent of the corrupt amount which is reclaimed and returned to the State budget, according to a draft joint circular on rewards for individuals who fight against corruption issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government Inspectorate.

A reward fund will be established and managed by the Government Inspectorate.

Besides, corruption denunciators will be granted Braveness Medal, Certificate of Merit from the Government Chief Inspector, and Anticorruption Badge.

The draft circular will be sent to central and local agencies to collect opinions.

Earlier, the Government Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh said at a National Assembly session that those who denounced corruptors would be rewarded up to VND10 billion (US$468,800).
